Intex 14-Inch Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump

Intex 14-Inch Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump to replace the catridge filter because it only took a day or two for the catridge to get dirty enough that it wouldn’t run my skimmer very well. I was taking it out everyday and rinsing it out, and putting a new one in every week. All this takes is 50 lbs of filter sand($10) and the power is more than enough for any pool 20′ or less. I’ve been using it for about a week and the power is still there. I love this filter over the catridge filters these come with. Well worth the money spent.

I have used it for 2 months and still love it. And a helpful tip, if the pressure goes down on the gauge it is probably something blocking the water flow. Mine did and there was trash in the little grid piece that goes through the pool wall. Took me awhile to realize that it could stop up in there. Anyway, 1000% better than the catridge filters.

What you need to know about this great Sand Filter Pump
I have had the Intex 56673EG 14-inch sand filter pump for a month now and I am completely satisfied. I am useing it on a 10 foot above ground round intex pool pumps.

What you need to know is, the pump comes with the Hose Conversion Adapters kit for Intex pool pumps 1500gph and 2500gph so there is no need to purchase one, the pump works great, it’s easy to install, and the timer works great.

Good pump for 14 Intex pool Pumps
I purchased this pump because I was tired of buying cartridges and the original pump would not get the small stuff on the bottom of the pool. The included water hose bag vacuum is a joke. I’ve been using this pump for about a month and a half and I must say its much better than the filter pump that came with the pool. Setup was very easy following the instructions. The 14′ pool I have did not allow the use of the larger inside connections that ship with this pump. I had to just pull out the outer pieces on the pool connections and then insert the adapters that are shipped with this pump.(You do not need to buy the adapters, they come with this pump) I was initially concerned with the connections leaking (Looked like they probably would), but they have not leaked a drop.

I will say that although the pump is much more powerful than the Intex pool pumps, it still will not get all the very small stuff on the bottom of the pool as I had hoped. So I came up with a relatively cheap and simple solution. Using a small plunger end that fits almost exactly over the original inlet of the pool (purchased the plunger at the local grocery store) and a long hose purchased in the pool section wally world, I made a vacuum that works like a charm! I am really surprised at how well this works, the suction on the hose is very good. Just had to trim out the interior hole of the plunger and cut off the excess hose. In 10-15 min my pool is crystal clear! Also I found that you have to submerge the hose and ensure all air is out of it or you will cause the pump to stop pumping and have to get out and restart it. Also with regard to the pump not getting the stuff off the bottom, if the pool was used on a daily basis, (kept any debris stirred up) and the pump ran every day, it may very likely keep it cleaner than in my situation. I don’t swim every day and I don’t run the pump every day. Usually every two to three days.
