Intex 1600 GPH Krystal Clear Sand Filter Reviews

100% highly recommend this filter it is wonderful
Intex pool pump started off with the cartridge filter that came with the pool and after about 3 weeks the water turned green and stunk. We would have to shock it 2 times a week and change the filter weekly but even still it look and smelled like raw sewage. Even with the chemicals we added to try and get the water right it was always nasty. Then we ordered this filter, set up was easy we needed 5 bags of 40lbs pool salt and one 50LBS back of silica pool sand filter sand from home depot, and we were up and running. within 3 days the water was clear and clean no smell.

After 2 Weeks the water is AMAZINGLY CLEAR and has no smell but chlorine. I don’t think the water could be any cleaner. Maintenance is very minimal (empty skimmer basket, Vacuum when needed) and that its. If your tired of messing with your pool and you would like a clean nice pool that is always ready for a refreshing swim I highly recommend this filter it is wonderful.

Easy to use and we can use same salt as
Cleared up Intex pool pump very fast. Easy to use and we can use same salt as for our house water system. Works great so far and we have had it 1 month.

Intex Pool Pumps

Intex Pool Pumps

The Intex pool pumps solve many of the problems seen in the Easy-Set pools. The metal frame pools contain no inflatable parts to puncture. The liner, however, may be punctured by sharp objects: it is wise to lay a ground cloth prior to setting up a metal-frame pool. The diameter stated on the Intex pool pumps packaging is less deceptive, because the walls of the metal frame pools are vertical: the distance across the pool is the same at the top of the pool and at the bottom of the pool. The metal frame pools will hold more water than an Easy-Set pool of the same depth: the Easy-Set pools may only be filled to 80% of capacity, but the metal frame pools may be filled to 90% of capacity.

The Intex pool pumps options come in sizes ranging from 10′ across x 30″ deep to a whopping 24′ across by 52″ deep. An “Ultra Frame” pool style is also available, and boasts a stronger liner and an easier assembly method (no locking pins are required).

Metal Frame Pool Set-Up
Setting up the Intex pool pump is easy, but the ground preparation prior to set-up may be challenging. The ground must be absolutely level prior to setting up the pool: an uneven slope may cause the pool to collapse and cause injury. Sand should not be used for leveling the ground under the pool, because the sand will shift once the water weight is added, creating an unstable and dangerous base.

To level the ground, it is best to dig out the high side of the slope. A box level can be placed on a long pipe or piece of timber to gauge whether the surface is even. Leveling the ground can be back-breaking work if the soil is rocky or clay-filled: a rented roto-tiller will make this process much easier.

Once the ground is leveled, it is wise to lay a weed-preventing cloth over the dirt. This will prevent any grass from growing into the pool liner. Some types of grass (specifically, St. Augustine and Bermuda) have been known to puncture the pool liners of Intex pool pumps.
The pool assembly is very easy. The liner is placed on the prepared ground and spread out: do not drag the liner about or a tear may form. The horizontal bars are threaded through the sleeves at the top of the pool, and T-bars are used to connect each bar with locking pins. The vertical supports are added last: the legs simply snap into the T-bars and the pool is set up. The time required to set up the pool is only 30 minutes.

Intex 14-Inch Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump

Intex 14-Inch Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump to replace the catridge filter because it only took a day or two for the catridge to get dirty enough that it wouldn’t run my skimmer very well. I was taking it out everyday and rinsing it out, and putting a new one in every week. All this takes is 50 lbs of filter sand($10) and the power is more than enough for any pool 20′ or less. I’ve been using it for about a week and the power is still there. I love this filter over the catridge filters these come with. Well worth the money spent.

I have used it for 2 months and still love it. And a helpful tip, if the pressure goes down on the gauge it is probably something blocking the water flow. Mine did and there was trash in the little grid piece that goes through the pool wall. Took me awhile to realize that it could stop up in there. Anyway, 1000% better than the catridge filters.

What you need to know about this great Sand Filter Pump
I have had the Intex 56673EG 14-inch sand filter pump for a month now and I am completely satisfied. I am useing it on a 10 foot above ground round intex pool pumps.

What you need to know is, the pump comes with the Hose Conversion Adapters kit for Intex pool pumps 1500gph and 2500gph so there is no need to purchase one, the pump works great, it’s easy to install, and the timer works great.

Good pump for 14 Intex pool Pumps
I purchased this pump because I was tired of buying cartridges and the original pump would not get the small stuff on the bottom of the pool. The included water hose bag vacuum is a joke. I’ve been using this pump for about a month and a half and I must say its much better than the filter pump that came with the pool. Setup was very easy following the instructions. The 14′ pool I have did not allow the use of the larger inside connections that ship with this pump. I had to just pull out the outer pieces on the pool connections and then insert the adapters that are shipped with this pump.(You do not need to buy the adapters, they come with this pump) I was initially concerned with the connections leaking (Looked like they probably would), but they have not leaked a drop.

I will say that although the pump is much more powerful than the Intex pool pumps, it still will not get all the very small stuff on the bottom of the pool as I had hoped. So I came up with a relatively cheap and simple solution. Using a small plunger end that fits almost exactly over the original inlet of the pool (purchased the plunger at the local grocery store) and a long hose purchased in the pool section wally world, I made a vacuum that works like a charm! I am really surprised at how well this works, the suction on the hose is very good. Just had to trim out the interior hole of the plunger and cut off the excess hose. In 10-15 min my pool is crystal clear! Also I found that you have to submerge the hose and ensure all air is out of it or you will cause the pump to stop pumping and have to get out and restart it. Also with regard to the pump not getting the stuff off the bottom, if the pool was used on a daily basis, (kept any debris stirred up) and the pump ran every day, it may very likely keep it cleaner than in my situation. I don’t swim every day and I don’t run the pump every day. Usually every two to three days.

Intex 3,000-Gallon Sand Filter Pump Reviews

Works great, easy set up, quiet
I bought this pump about a week ago to replace the 1500gph pump that came with Intex pool pump easy set 18’x48″ round pool. This was very convenient due to the fact that it was made by intex and was very simple to hook up to the existing setup. I have been really impressed so far with the design and function of intex pool pump components, particularly relating to the hose connections. Nothing beats the threaded hose connections and the convenient shut-off valves in the pool walls.

This pump comes with the pump motor and sand filter. The only thing I had to supply was two 50lb bags of silica filter sand. The connections and assembly were typical intex easy for a do it your selfer no tools needed, which seems to be a theme with intex pool pump products. The motor is quite powerful and the sand filter is second to none. It is also quite convenient because you don’t have to replace a paper filter every two weeks. Water has been crystal clear. Once I bought the sand I had this thing up and running in about 25 minutes. It works with all of the existing connections on the 18′ diameter and larger pools. If you have a smaller pool you have to use some adapters that come with the pump kit. A new set of hoses is included as well with the very convenient threaded connections.

Overall I love this pump so far
CON: My only small gripe is the O-ring seal in the leaf catcher lid. You really have to tighten it just right to get a good seal (if not it will drip all day). If it’s too loose it leaks, if it’s too tight it leaks. You really have to mess with it so it won’t leak. This did not become apparent until the first time I had to remove the lid to pull out the strainer for cleaning. Going to have to deduct a star for that. Minor inconvenience, but the pump is still a lot of bang for the buck and I don’t regret my purchase one bit.
